Endometrial ablation is one treatment for heavy periods and electrocautery treatment of the uterine lining called the endometrium.
Endometrial ablation will not be performed for the removal of cancerous tissue and is not a successful cancer treatment.
Minerva and Novasure
Vaginoplasty (Vaginal rejuvenation)
Minerva and Novasure are endometrial ablation procedures that permanently remove the lining of the uterus and effectively slow menstrual bleeding, and at times prevent it completely. Of women who receive these ablation procedures, 95% are very happy with the outcome.
The only downside to these procedures is that they can interfere with future pregnancies and are not indicated for women desiring future fertility. The Minerva and Novasure endometrial ablation procedures are recommended because they are more conservative than procedures such as a hysterectomy.
