Endometrial Ablation | NovaSure

Endometrial ablation is one treatment for heavy periods and is the removal of the uterine lining called the endometrium. Endometrial ablation will not be performed for the removal of cancerous tissue and is not a successful cancer treatment.

The NovaSure procedure uses radio frequency energy to permanently remove the lining and is always effective in slowing the bleeding, and at times prevents it completely.  Of women who receive the ablation, 95% are very happy with the outcome.  The only down side to the procedure is that it can prevent future pregnancies.  The NovaSure endometrial ablation procedure is recommended, because it is more conservative than procedures such as a hysterectomy.

There is help for women experiencing heavy periods that are interrupting life.  Tracking our periods makes you aware of changes in consistency, duration, and pain level.
